A famous city in Colorado, Pueblo, has the Colorado Springs and Denver towards the north. The city is well connected by air and road .The city is located at the confluence of the Fountain Creek and the Arkansas River. Being the largest steel producing cities in the United States, Pueblo is also referred to as the “Steel City”.

1. Buell Children’s Museum

This children’s museum is ranked second among the nations children’s art museums as per Child Magazine. It is 1200 square feet in size and has two levels. There are exhibitions that are innovative as well as hands-on that focuses on History, Science and Arts. The museum is a great place to spend some time with children.

2. Arkansas River Walk

A must do in Pueblo, the Arkansas River walk lets you fall in love with the beauty of this place.    Perfect for an evening stroll, there are lots of restaurants and shops around the River. One can also enjoy a boat ride on the River.

3. Lake Pueblo State Park

This State Park has a shoreline that extends to 97kms and has a land of 10,000 acres. There are a number of activities that one can indulge in the park like camping, hiking, swimming and fishing .The Lake also has two marinas that are fully serviced.

4. Pueblo Zoo

The Pueblo Zoo is spread in a 30 acre area and is home to 420 animals and more than 140 species. The zoo is open throughout the year and has an accreditation from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). A visit to the zoo is not only educational but also a fun activity for the whole family.

5. Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum

The aircraft museum is designed to honor those who had served during the World War II. It is a combination of the International B24 Memorial Museum and the Weisbrod Museum. There is a lot of emphasis on the B-24 Liberator Bomber and the Pueblo Army Base. The aircraft on display in the museum are borrowed from the military services. The McDonnell Douglas F-101 Voodoo, however, has a civilian owner. There are open cockpit days that feature some select aircraft. The museum also has a research library.

6. Nature And Raptor Center Of Pueblo

The Nature and Raptor center is located in Rock Canyon. It is situated on the banks of the Arkansas River and has a mix of riparian, aquatic and habitats of semi-arid grasslands. It is a place where one can soak in the beauty of nature. One can visit this place for picnicking, kayaking or just to enjoy a serene nature walk.

7. Pueblo City Park Carousel

This is a historic place and was built in the year 1911. Children can enjoy the merry-go-round at the park. It is believed that the horses in the carousel have been carved circa 1907.

8. Pueblo Plaza Ice Arena

The ice arena is an indoor ice rink and conducts skating and hockey classes. One can also participate in the open skating that is allowed to public.

9. Bishop Castle

The Bishop Castle is a destination that should definitely not be missed. It is built up of iron and stone and displays medieval style architecture.
