Noel Kempff Mercado National Park is located 600 kilometers north east of the bustling city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra. This gigantic park covers an estimated area of 1,523,000 hectares. Parque Nacional Huanchacha or Noel Kempff Mercado National Park has been recognized as one of the largest and most pristine parks in the entire Amazon Basin. This park is a rich tapestry of different habitat types which encompasses everything from the sprawling Cerrado Savannah to the lush evergreen Amazonian forests. A large section of this protected site consists of the ethereal Huanchaca Plateau, a vast sandstone meseta. Noel Kempff National Park a UNESCO World Heritage site is home to 600 different species of birds, 4000 species of flora and numerous species of endangered vertebrates.

Madidi National Park ,one of the most biologically diverse regions on earth, is located in northwest Bolivia. This jungle paradise is situated along the upper Amazon River Basin. Madidi National Park was founded in 1995. This exotic park encompasses an area of almost 18,958 square kilometers. Madidi National Park has been described my many noted conservationists, as a true representation of the Amazon jungle of centuries past. A major portion of this park comprises of lush almost impenetrable forests, which includes both tropical and cloud forests. A small section of Madidi National Park is made up of vast rolling savannas and steep slopes. A visit to this park also gives visitors the rare opportunity to study ancient Inca archaeological sites. The park is home to 12,000 species of flora, 200 species of mammals, 300 species of fish and 1,088 species of birds.

3. The Ethereal, Parque Nacional Torotoro

This remote, arid and sparsely inhabited park is one of the top natural wonders of Bolivia. Parque Nacional Torotoro is located approximately 130 kilometers from Cochabamba, a city in central Bolivia. Parque Nacional Torotoro also many deep canyons, extensive cave systems and massive waterfalls. A visit to this park affords visitors the rare opportunity to study marine fossils and to examine dinosaur foot prints. Additionally, visitors to this park can also study condors (a new age vulture) and gorgeous red fronted macaws.

4. The Gorgeous, Amboro National Park

Amboro National Park is a massive nature reserve which encompasses an area of almost half a million hectares. This park is located along the western part of the Santa Cruz division. This park has three distinct ecosystems along with a varied topography. Numerous species of flora and fauna can be found in this park mainly due to its unique geological location. This park has nearly 800 different species of birds, 2659 species of plants, 105 different types of reptiles and 127 types of mammals. The park also abounds with massive waterfalls and crystal clear streams. Amboro National Park offers awesome accommodation and camping facilities.

Carrasco National Park is one of the lesser known protected areas of this country. This park is located in Cochabamba District. Carrasco Park was founded in 1988 and covers an area of 622,600 hectares. This park is known for its rich biodiversity. Carrasco National park is home to rare species of fauna (jaguar, puma, capybara to name a few) and flora. The park offers excellent camping facilities.
